The ITC has pushed back the dates for the final phase of the new investigations because the U.S. Commerce Department tolled the deadline for its final determinations by 7 days due to technical issues related to the internet outage last month, as follows:
- Prehearing Staff Report 10/7
- Prehearing Briefs due 10/15
- Request to Appear at Hearing due 10/16
- Hearing 10/22 @ 9:30 am
- Posthearing Briefs & Answers to Commissioners’ Questions due 10/29
- Posthearing Staff Report 11/7

Could all U.S. seafood market needs be met domecally?
A new University of Maine study has found that the United States could potentially meet all its seafood needs through domestic production. This would, however, require changes in consumer habits, investment in infrastructure and adaption to climate change.

US DOC Maintains Vietnam’s Status as Non-Market Economy
Following nearly a year of review, the DOC announced on 2 August it will continue to classify Vietnam as a non-market economy, meaning that products exported from Vietnam to the U.S. will continue to face different treatment in antidumping and countervailing investigations, rather than solely considering actual production costs in Vietnam.
